A client asks: “How long has your company been in this market?”. They want to know your “stamina” and history.
The Present Perfect, use this tense to connect the past to the present.
We use have/has been + verb-ing.
- Intent: To focus on the duration of an action that started in the past and continues now.
- Examples:
- I have been working in finance for ten years.
(Trabalho na área de finanças há dez anos.) - We have been negotiating this deal since March.
|Estamos negociando este acordo desde março.)
- I have been working in finance for ten years.
